So I’m in co-op starting May. I went over to drop my documents off yesterday but didn’t know where to get off the bus, and the bus driver was also clueless, so I ended up getting off at the airport and walking through the entire, GIGANTIC compound for half an hour. It was a nice day and I kind of wanted to see the grounds anyway, so it wasn’t a complete waste of time. After which I found out that to get to the nearest bus stop, you have to climb a snow/ice covered slope up to the highway overpass. Crazy. It’s so secluded there; perfect for a bunch of research geeks to hang out. lol.
Also, my current (possibly ex-) manager is a total flake. Her latest stunt is to take me off the work schedules completely without telling me. My resignation stated that I wanted my last day to be 16 April, but if she decided to let me go early I certainly didn’t know about it. I hope she won’t change her mind and call me in to work this weekend, because my parents asked me to go to one of them maple farm lodges with them.
In other news, school is a bitch right now.
In other other news, I think my mother is getting to that age where she really wants grandchildren >.>

An-Mei: I tell you the story because I was raised the Chinese way. I was taught to desire nothing, to swallow other people’s misery, and to eat my own bitterness. And even though I taught my daughter the opposite, still she came out the same way. Maybe it is because she was born to me and she was born a girl, and I was born to my mother and I was born a girl, all of us like stairs, one step after another, going up, going down, but always going the same way. No, this cannot be, this not knowing what you’re worth, this not begin with you. My mother not know her worth until too late - too late for her, but not for me. Now we will see if not too late for you, hmm?

I had an idea which I mentioned to some of you before and I wondered how much interest there would be in it. So here are a few questions:
1. Did you enjoy reading as a child?
2. Did you enjoy being read to as a child?
3. Do you enjoy reading now?
4. Do you enjoy, even as an adult, being read to?
